Rooney and Ferdinand make England squad
I don't suppose either name is much of a surprise...neither was the disappearance of Michael Carrick considering his lack of playing time of late.

Well Rooney was a no brainer. Ferdinand is rolling the dice in a big way. Is he going to be in traction for his back the next time a big match comes around? And how old will he be for the Euro cup…
I'd just soon Fabio give Rooney the game off
No offense to the Montenegro people, but I don’t think Rooney is that necessary. Not with Darren Bent and Ashley Young being in form and Peter Crouch always playing a role in Fabio’s squad. I just don’t think there’s room for him and I think he’d be better served training with United over the break and possibly calling him up for the friendly next month vs. France.
Ferdinand will want to impress Fabio because his armband is being threatened. He’s only 31 (32 next month) so you have to think Euro 2012 is his last big tournament. He’s looked good playing with Vidic so far, but I’m concerned by the reports that he stood most of the flight to Spain to keep his back in order.
