Wayne Rooney headed to Nike facilities in the US for rehab
Wayne Rooney will spend the next week in Portland at Nike Town, as he continues to recover from a nagging ankle injury. Assistant Mike Phelan delivered the news Friday during the club's weekly press conference, as Sir Alex Ferguson has come down with the same virus that kept Darron Gibson out of Tuesday's match with Bursaspor. On that front, it's expected that SAF will be at Old Trafford for United's match with Wolves tomorrow.

Get him away from England, away from the tabloids, and let him focus on his training. (He can also party it up away from Colleen. Although I’d much rather he focus on the training part. Good thing he’s going to Portland, which is a fairly tame city in comparison)
Good to hear that Capello dropped him from the team too. He’s in no shape to participate, especially in a friendly. Let him regain his fitness, form and confidence, and hopefully he’d be able to come back with a strong season. He might very well be the equivalent of bringing in a world-class forward in the transfer window.
