Cleverley to Wigan

I mentioned this when the rumor first surfaced but I like Wigan as a destination for Tom. It's a Premier League team so he should get some time on the pitch against top quality opposition and Roberto Martinez encourages his teams to get the ball down and pass it and I think that will help Cleverley develop as a player.

There is also a lot of rumors about a bid for Jack Rodwell floating around. I hate rumors and I hate acknowledging them but I love Rodwell and I want him at United.

I think the Cleverly move is huge for him. He should get some time with Wigan and that will be invaluable in his development. Smart move.

I don’t see anywhere that the Rodwell deal ever materialized. There was a rumor that United were offering 10 million and Michael Carrick, but I don’t think it ever materialized. Would have loved to seen him at OT….maybe in January.

Good for Cleverly, after seeing him play in the MLS All-Star game in Houston last month I have nothing but praise for the lad. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he is a regular face in the starting 11 next year. I would probably at this point put him ahead of Carrick and Anderson, but that’s me.
