Rooney screws up big time
Can't lie, I'm disappointed. I suppose it would be more appropriate for this site to discuss the effects this will have on his play, but it's still hard for me to swallow the fact that someone I support and look up to would do something like this to his wife.
Here is the link to the Mirror story.

I can't judge Rooney
I have made mistakes in my life too. If he has truly changed since having a son then maybe he can salvage his marriage but ultimately as horrible as it sounds all that matters to me personally is that this doesn’t affect his performance on the pitch for United. I don’t know him or his wife so the only thing that affects me is what he does on the pitch every Saturday for 90 minutes for United.

Cheating on an exam is a mistake. Cheating on a woman is a different thing entirely.

How so?
It’s still a mistake. And frankly it has nothing to do with either of us unless you are related to Colleen.

That sort of thing ruins lives. It harms people. I have a hard time cheering and supporting a guy who would do this to his wife. And in case you hadn’t noticed, he has been playing like crap lately.
I realize that athletes like Giggs and Scholes don’t come along every day. I’m not saying Rooney has to be a saint, but I don’t think I’m expecting too much out of him. This is cold.

Actually that's wrong
he played quite well in his last few games. He was excellent against West Ham and Bulgaria. If you were cheering for Rooney before this incident what has changed now? We all knew he went to brothel’s when he was 16. The guy just isn’t very smart off the pitch and he is going to make mistakes.
And as for ruining lives. Come on. It might cause pain and suffering and anger but no one has ever had the life ruined by someone else cheating on them unless they let it happen.

I really doubt the kid
with two million dollar parents is going to have his life ruined by his parents splitting up. He might have his life ruined by having shitty parents but whether they are apart or not isn’t really relevant.

I don’t really know what to say about that last statement. I guess you’re entitled to your opinion.

It would probably affect his play. A man of his stature will have way more pressure on him now. I wonder how SAF will respond to this. I don’t remember the last proper scandal we had.
Yeah, I know he has a reputation for demanding a lot of his players on and off the pitch, but I don’t see Fergie doing anything about this. Rooney means too much to the team.
Hopefully he doesn’t pull a John Terry and take some games off because of it, but then again maybe it would be good for him to miss the game at Goodison Park.
