I get it...
but I’m against it… despite the extra revenue that could generate for United. As the piece states, the Premier League would become similar to La Liga. Winning La Liga is terrific for Barca and Madrid but I get the feeling that Europe is their main objective. For the big clubs in England, the Premier League is still special… especially to their supporters.
If this were to go through, we’d be closer to having some sort of ‘Super European League’ someday which I’m against. I’m fine with the Champions League/European Cup.

It sounds like it would ruin the EPL as we know it. It would make it nearly impossible to unseat the current top teams. Going to Stoke and playing against 11 bulldozers is why the EPL is fun to watch (although frustrating when it is your team against those bulldozers). There is no way they could have enjoyed the relative success they have in such a short time with this kind of agreement.
The only way I could see it being marginally acceptable is if each game’s profits were split 50/50 with the opposing team. As you said, we don’t need a Super League. It already exsists through the cup competitons.
