4-4-1-1?

They squad list looks like it can also go there with Nani/Park on the wings and Young tucked in behind Roo – they can go both depending on how the midfield is controlled.

Good lord

Can we get through a game without having someone go off injured? It seems like there’s only been a few games this season where someone hasn’t gone off and subsequently missed a game or two due to injury.

Did a quick calculation -

Believe that there have been 11 United players who have been taken off due to injury during a game in the 23 competitive matches we have played. That’s not counting players who have injured themselves in international duty or in training. That’s got to be absurd.

Young has been terrible

Not anywhere near the form he was in prior to his injury

he lost his scoring touch when he was moved back into the midfield

I wish more would praise Nani when he plays well

so many others are lightning quick to jump on him when he plays poorly. He was the only bright spot in attack that first half.

From Soccernet's Commentary...

“United think Vidic has knee ligament damage and “fear the worst” but won’t know for sure until a scan back in England."

This 2nd half will be brutal, no matter what happens

Expect an onslaught by United. But Basel are capable of being lethal on the counter.

Fergie can use this – WE NEED A FUCKING DECENT MIDFIELDER… PARK GIGGS AND JONES ARE NOT A QUALITY MIDIELD

Fucking...

Hell.

Our midfield needs a complete fucking overhaul. We simply can’t keep up with what he have now.

by Sergio Hernandez on Dec 7, 2011 9:38 PM GMT reply actions

We can keep the ball

But no creativity What -so-fucking EVER

by Sweet science on Dec 7, 2011 9:39 PM GMT up reply actions

Exactly.

EXACTLY. As much as it pains me to say, Citeh knows how to put the goal in the net. We’re skating by on talent but that won’t fly too long.

by Sergio Hernandez on Dec 7, 2011 9:41 PM GMT up reply actions

Nani is our only winger that seems to be on form

And we have nothing in the centre of the park….. Giggs is the closet thing we have… but damm he’s 92 years fucking old.

We could drop Rooney in Midfield…. It’s not as though he ’s banging in the goals atm… but then who do we play up top…. Welbeck??

Hernandez is out for a month….

Fergie should have brough proven players and got rid of some of the dross…..

by Sweet science on Dec 7, 2011 9:44 PM GMT up reply actions

Why not this?

Fergie should have got Sneijder

by dingmajiao on Dec 7, 2011 9:46 PM GMT up reply actions

No

Modric

I know Snedjer has all the talent in the world but… I just don’t think he would have fit in

Modric would have been lovely

by Sweet science on Dec 7, 2011 9:50 PM GMT up reply actions

I wish we could have advanced and drawn Inter

so everyone could see how poor Sneijder has been for over a year. I’m so sick of this Sneijder talk.

We can win the Europa League which is the only major competiton United hasn’t won

by TheSpecialOne on Dec 7, 2011 9:41 PM GMT reply actions

How does that work?

Where do we come in at that then?

by natepilling on Dec 7, 2011 9:44 PM GMT up reply actions

We come in

the KO stage I think

Some Consolation (Bashes head against Wall)

by Sweet science on Dec 7, 2011 9:46 PM GMT up reply actions

From the Europa site:

The 38 play-off winners and the ten losing teams from the UEFA Champions League play-offs make up the 48 clubs that go into the group-stage draw.

by natepilling on Dec 7, 2011 9:51 PM GMT up reply actions

Oh yeah

There is another group stage I think

by Sweet science on Dec 7, 2011 9:53 PM GMT up reply actions

That was in August

The Europa group stages just ended. The 24 teams that finished top two in the 12 groups and the 8 third place CL teams go into a pot for the 32 team knockout round.

by Stephen Schmidt on Dec 7, 2011 10:09 PM GMT up reply actions

All knockout from this point on

Just one extra round of it than the CL would have

by Stephen Schmidt on Dec 7, 2011 10:09 PM GMT up reply actions

Painful. Just painful. United doesn’t deserve to move on to the next round.
