Busby's Nuggets: Transfer rumors and a few other odds and ends

"So let me get this straight. You aren't SURE you want to move to Manchester now?"

Did Sir Alex Ferguson jump the gun a little? It is odd that David de Gea would feel compelled to deny his move if he, in fact, had agreed to switch to Old Trafford.  Sir Alex obviously has other options he can pursue who already look to be chomping at the bit to replace Edwin van der Sar.

Wesley Sneijder is committed to Inter and denies any Manchester United interest for next year. His has been a common name thrown around the transfer rumor marketplace also known as the internet.  Will this statement slow down the speculation now????? I didn’t think so either but it may open the door to the new name of the week.

United has been rumored to be interested in numerous wingers, such as Alexis Sanchez and Ashley Young. This seems odd considering the Alex Ferguson already has the likes of Antonio Valencia, Ji-Sung Park, Nani, and an occasional Ryan Giggs at his disposal. This may make a little more sense with the news that Juventus have put in a substantial bid for Nani's services. It’s obviously nothing but rumor and gossip at this point but is very intriguing, nonetheless.

Star-divide

There has been a lot of speculation as to the future of Dmitar Berbatov. If it were completely up to him, he would be a Red Devil for at least one more year. The same can be said for Michael Owen.  With his contract expiring this summer, it is very unlikely Owen is at Old Trafford next year though.

The youth squad won a trophy of their own this week behind a brace each from Ravel Morrison and Will Keane. There is a good bit of talk about the talent that currently resides in United’s academy system.  Hopefully they continue to develop and stay out of trouble.

Owen Gibson talks increase in revenue from United branding and transfer funds available. The lack of protests and continued anti-Glazer sentiment is refreshing compared to last year. They aren’t perfect but at least they have figured out to leave Ferguson alone and let him do what he does best. Win trophies.

£25m for Nani would be good value for Juventus imo. I would hope he could fetch more then that.

30M tops

but thats only because today’s market is stupid

We payed too much for him anyway…… Not to say he isn’t a good player but 17M was too much

The article says 25mil was the initial offer so you know it would go up after negotiations.

I just really don’t see him leaving. Problem becomes what to do with another winger. Nani is proven and brings the creativity that United lacks occasionally.
