Very cool to see...
So much support from the Seattle fans for their hometown team.

and possible shit quality…. I’ll sort through it and see if I have anything of interest.
Great atmosphere though

Fernandez has some wheels
man, he came flying looking to get that ball away from Nani

I get the feeling that...
If Seattle keeps this pressure up, they’re eventually going to lead themselves open to the counter.

Maybe not as young as he once was
but smarter

I'm obviously not on your timeline of events....
but there was one Giggsy cutback that made everyone in the crowd go “ooooooooooooooo……..ohhhhhhhhh”

Yeah
He actually made a couple of cuts up against the sideline in front of the benches that left the Seattle players looking foolish

I'm sure he could have
but he didn’t even play advantage

I would think so
The ball rolls and bounces differently. Plus FIFA really hasn’t approved it.

I think it's on a case-by-case basis
Outside of the MLS clubs that have it and whoever plays at the stadium in Moscow the Champions League final was in a few years ago, I can’t think of any other places that really have a full-blown turf. Certainly there are some hybrids out there.

Commentators
I have to say the commentators have been pretty good so far. I try to watch MLS but don’t ususally get too far without losing focus.
Love Nani.
I don’t understand why some people still think he is expendable.
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
Certainly fun to watch. But i get aggravated when he can’t see an open player and takes a shot instead. He should be getting better at that this year if he’s reviewed film. The guy creates so many chances.
He is the most frustrating fun I have.
Still my favorite player is Valencia.
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
b/c we're embarrassing deep in the wide areas
but Nani is world-class…. and we don’t win title #19 without him last season

Double tivo options.
Still got the Man U game on playback. I think Uruguay is gonna win. I liked them before, based off their great world cup showing, but was not sure they would get past Argentina.

Might as well call us Inter Manchester.
They are ok. I liked the white road ones from last year.

Real Madrid on ESPN3 and Man U on record. Soccer overload.

I like both.
But I agree with you that this one is better. Plus this announcer is hysterical.

When United plays the "big" MLS teams they play their best.
They crushed the All Stars last year.
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
It is almost like United is putting the MLS in their place.
Poor lil buggers
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
Be as unbiased as possible.
Who would you guys rate as the best footballer in the EPL??
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
Too vague
But if I was starting a team tomorrow and I could choose the first player out of everybody. I’d go Fabregas.
Vidic
I’d take him over Fabregas any day

Cesc has youth.
Shame he is heading back home. Does Barca even need him?
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
Titus Bramble!
I think I have to go Rooney, just because he is so rounded and offers us soo much. No one I can think of does that in England. Scorses and creates and a fantastic work ethic.
Modric
Drogba
Tevez
Vidic
Van Persie
Fabragas
Gerrard when fully fit

Isn't that like the first thing they teach goalkeepers?
Never pass the ball across the front of an empty net?

TOUCHDOWN!!!!
It is good to have the NFL back!!! Wait it is only July????
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
Well...........
I think Rooney is fit and ready for the season. Nani looks ready. I am ready.
Roll Bass and War Ryno for me
Well, obviously this game wasn't close,
but I gotta say that the first half was really good soccer/football. Osvaldo Alonso had a chance to show that he is just as good at distribution regardless of the opponent, and the Sounders got some decent shots on goal.
I don’t really want to talk about what happened when we put in our reserves and you put in one of the best goal scorers in the world. If nothing else though, it did drive home a fact that we already know. We REALLY need to get a new keeper to replace Keller when he retires at the end of the season. Boss is just not going to cut it.
Sounders 'til I die
Great night
it was great being in the stadium and seeing PARK SCORE! ahhhhhh!
I even somewhat missed you all :)

Seattle’s defense is astoundingly bad! They seem to just bunch up and run toward the guy with the ball, leaving one or more players completely unmarked in or around the box. Even so, Rooney’s finishes were awesome… As were the away kits!
Also, Michael Owen might want to consider finishing his career here in the states, judging by his scoring tally in these preseason matches.
"Can Manchester United score? They always score... Peter Schmeichel is forward... Beckham, in towards Schmeichel- it's come for Dwight Yorke. Cleared... Giggs with a shot- SHERINGHAM!"
If you're referring to the second half defense,
I do hope you realize that they were all reserves. The full backs aren’t even full backs. The RB is a converted F/M and the LB is a converted M. Neither have ever even seen a minute of time at the FB position in an MLS match, much less against the likes of United. And those CBs are third stringers AT BEST. I wouldn’t read too much into it. Yes, Rooney was very clinical in his finishes, but I would hope one of the best strikers in the world could finish against a 3rd-5th string MLS defense.
As for the first half defense, only half that line was the first team. The #1 CB and LB are injured. So what you saw was a first team right side and a second team left. They held their own for what it was.
This is the problem I have with these friendlies. Other than the distraction from title runs, they don’t really do much for competition or to raise awareness. For those that don’t watch MLS, all they see is a 7-0 score and just assume that MLS sucks and that United is ready to win their next title. It doesn’t really provided any real competition for United to gauge where they are. And it doesn’t really turn non-MLS followers into fans of the league nor shed a positive light on the league.
And for us (realistic) MLS fans, even though we don’t really expect to win against a United, etc.., once the second half subs come on it’s really just pointless. At least when the starters are on for the first half it’s an enjoyable match to watch and there is always the possibility that we can indeed win.
If we’re gonna keep doing these I’d like to see them treated like a “real” match. Let the starters go 90 and only use limited subs. Even if we lose, it’ll at least even out these lopsided scorelines and provide for some real competition for the visiting clubs that are in their preseason. It will keep fans engaged. And non-MLS fans will get to see what this league is really like and maybe even come to like it.
You'll Never Sail Alone!
