Lineup a bit weird.

Pogba doesn’t make the start. Carrick playing in defence??

by dingmajiao on Sep 20, 2011 7:45 PM BST via iPhone app reply actions

Fryers making his debut though, playing alongside Carrick at the heart of the defence.

Think SAF wanted to rest Rio in case Smalling is still out during the weekend.

Formation?

Only following this online, but multiple commentaries suggest a 4-2-4? I know that Owen and Kiko have played out wide before, but can anyone confirm?

by eyc_9 on Sep 20, 2011 8:12 PM BST reply actions

Diouf and Kiko are the wide men.

by dingmajiao on Sep 20, 2011 8:18 PM BST via iPhone app up reply actions

Owen again!!

Clinical by him.

Game over!

Giggs with the deflection.

by dingmajiao on Sep 20, 2011 8:33 PM BST via iPhone app reply actions

crazy shot too… just running across the front of the net, and whipping it off the outside of a foot nearly perpendicular to his run.

Yeah. Think it would be fair if they credit Giggs with the goal.

by dingmajiao on Sep 20, 2011 8:48 PM BST via iPhone app up reply actions

well it was his goal, even if it did a little pinball on the way in.

Wow! Berba and Carrick in the heart of defence.

by dingmajiao on Sep 20, 2011 9:28 PM BST via iPhone app up reply actions

Carrick makes a good centre back

He hasn’t got the pace, but he reads the game well and knows the spaces defensively. But then again, Leeds didn’t look interested in winning the game after the first 10 minutes

by brandding on Sep 20, 2011 10:01 PM BST reply actions

His passes out of defence will be gems too. Though I doubt he wants to play there regularly. He spoke about it before.

Other Carling cup result

My team Aldershot is still in.

Never won in the Carling cup before this season, have beat West Ham (Championship) Carlise and Rochdale (League 1) When we beat West Ham at Upton Park of all places, we were in the bottom four in League two. Since then we have been unbeaten.

If we get United at OT, or even our stadium (EBB stadium at the recreation ground)…….. I would be over the moon. I’d do a match report, Q&A…. club history, all for your reading pleasure…..

Big if though ;)

I'd be happy to draw Aldershot :)

hahaha our RB loves an overhead kick

not in the opposition box, but, in our own corner, half way line, our own box, a clearing overhead. He probably averages at least one a game

His name is Ben Herd so we sing

You what, You what, you whatyou whatyou what

BEN HERD, BEN HERD BEN HERDBEN HERDBEN HERD

Ledge

By the way, im so excited about an Aldershot Unied draw, that if we don’t get it… send the ambulance round to my house sharpish!!

While I'm glad to see Amos getting a start

it’s only a matter of time before Lindegaard becomes frustrated just like PIG….if there is one thing that Sir Alex doesn’t seem to do very well it’s backup keepers. I wish he would have sold Tomasz this summer he’s been a loyal servant and deserves to move on somewhere where he’ll get some playing time…….He needs to find a keeper that’s capable in filling in but is also content at being a backup and Anders doesn’t seem to be that guy, even though I’d love for him to stay as the backup.

Think he’ll ship Tomasz as long as someone meet his valuation.

by dingmajiao on Sep 21, 2011 4:49 PM BST up reply actions

According to Tomasz there were several offers

but none got to 3m so he decided to shelf him. I wonder if he’s even training with the team.

I think SAF should have sold him though..

But nice option as a 3rd/4th choice? .

by dingmajiao on Sep 22, 2011 12:34 PM BST up reply actions

he should be sold

You don’t need a 4th goalkeeper of his caliber. He certainly deserves to play as well. He’s gone out with the Reserves on a few occasions this season.
