'Liverpool's Kenny Dalglish plays dumb to leave his dignity in tatters'
The Guardian's Daniel Taylor offers up this scathing assessment of Kenny Dalglish and his handling of Luis Suarez. Taylor also describe Suarez as "a man whose brains are all in his feet." Opinions obviously vary on this sensitive topic but my own feelings on the matter are very close to Taylor's.

Play nice everyone
The discussion on this topic has been mostly civil thus far on this site — and that has included Liverpool supporters. If you wish to further comment on the topic, I request that you bring only new content as a conversation piece, rather than repeat the same conversation from other threads on this one. Obviously, I will not try to tell anyone they can’t say what’s on their mind but I would appreciate it if you can keep these guidelines in mind on this thread. Thanks.

Have to agree...
With the article.
Backing your player is one thing but at some point, a manager just needs to admit his lad screwed up. Fergie did as much when asked about Evra’s celebration in front of Suarez.

Thanks! I was...
Kicking around during last week’s Live Thread.
I’ve got to keep my eye on the kiddo now that she’s running around now which leaves less opportunity for me to follow the Live Threads.

I’m not doing your job for you!! :)

This leaves a teeny (and I mean teeny) bit of doubt about what happened
I think I could watch it a thousand times and come to a different conclusion each time about who is at fault. That said, it does bring a slight bit of doubt into my mind that Evra is completely innocent in this altercation. Check it out, see what you think.

Yeah, but so was Suarez's
Evra put his hand at his waist after Henderson. Why? Doesn’t make sense. No one shakes hands down there. Suarez’s was in shaking position, Evra seemed to choose not to meet it until Suarez assumed that Evra wasn’t going to shake hands.
Not saying Suarez is 100% innocent in this, but neither is Evra it looks like.

The first angle...
Looks like Evra might be more to blame but the overhead shot looks like Suarez completely passed him up. The writer on the article coupled with the video lays it on pretty thick as well.
Like Gene said on his Twitter (shameless plug: @GeneUmTBB), Evra was the victim in this situation. If everyone is being hard on “poor” Suarez, it’s because of the filth that left his mouth.
At least he apologized and we can move on from this ugly situation.

I don't think it is a "poor" Suarez thing
And the only reason that thinking came about in anyone’s head is due to Evra’s poor conduct as well after the incident.
But I am glad he apologized and we can be done…until next season.

It does raise doubt
…Until you watch the video.

As a United fanatic, I must admit...
if I were Evs, I would have done the exact same thing to Suarez after the match.
Suarez’s actions in what got him banned for 8 games were stupid enough. Before the match, he added insult to injury by refusing to shake Evra’s hand, then boots a ball out of bounds straight at the guy (last 20 min of game) AND before the half, kicks a ball out of bounds at Sir Alex. Could this classless, low-bred racist possibly be LESS professional?
Owing to that, I wasn’t sure just how stupid Dalglish is, but his inclusion of Suarez in the lineup as well as his postgame defense of that child was shocking.

I couldn’t care less if he included him in the team. His job is to win games. As a United fan, I would have been more worried about Bellamy starting

Dalglish wanted to get in United's head by starting that loser.
And his attempts at “playing stupid” afterward show how little class he has.
Then again, I haven’t liked Dalglish since I found out he threatened Keane after Roy decided to join United over whatever tin-pot club Dogleash was managing at the time.

I doubt it. For all of Suarez’s shortcoming’s, and there is many, he is a fine footballer that can win games. I am sure that is the lone reason Kenny started him
Put it this way. Carroll or Suarez? I know which one I would choose :)

I agree the decision between Carroll and Suarez is a no-brainer.
Aside from Carroll’s magnificent, Steven Segal-like ponytail, I’m not sure what he brings to LP’s attack… okay height, but little else.
Bellamy, Kuyt and Maxi Rodriguez (maybe Maxi is injured?) have been forever menacing in my opinion in whatever attacking roles they’ve been asked to take. I’m not much on players with Suarez’s style of baggage. Teammates like like Glen Johnson can’t be too thrilled with Dalglish’s inclusion of someone of Suarez’s beliefs.

Carroll doesn't use his height at all though
Maxi is healthy, but doesn’t do well tracking back which means he won’t play too often in big games. He also goes on walkabouts where he ends up holding Downing’s hand and you look at the TV and go, “WTF are you doing over there?”
I believe Johnson has been publicly supportive of Suarez, but who knows what he is thinking behind the scenes.

That team your thinking of would be Blackburn Rovers.
