Around SBN: The Eternal Unpredictability of the 2011-12 Boston Celtics

With no match during the upcoming weekend, Fergie has said that he will play his "strongest team" versus Ajax on Thursday during Europa League action. This could still be an opportunity to reintroduce the likes of Tom Cleverley, Nani, Chris Smalling, and Phil Jones as they recover -- or near recovery -- from injury. It's also a chance to rest Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes while also giving players like Dimitar Berbatov, Ashley Young, Fabio, Ben Amos, and Paul Pogba a game.

I have feeling Fergie may indeed use a strong team

My guess is that he wants to have the lead in this two-legged tie when United leave Amsterdam. Get out ahead this Thursday and then rotate the squad a bit next week… United will a tough match at Carrow Road 3 days after the reverse fixture with Ajax.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the likes of Giggs, Scholes, and Ferdinand rested. This could allow a nice opportunity for Nani, Cleverley, Smalling, and Jones to get a game if they are recovered from injury — each are likely to be vital players for the run-in.

Carrick, Valencia, and Evra have logged heavy minutes recently as well and each could probably use a rest. This perhaps could allow for Ando, Fabio, and Young to get a run.

Haven't heard much about Fabio

When is he due to return? If he is still out injured I wouldn’t mind giving Fryers the start at Left Back if Evra is not needed.

He's not injured

He’s been on the bench in recent matches.

I have a gut feeling that Cleverley plays on Thursday

and that Scholes and Giggs are rested.
